I’m testing out a program called Alpaca Electron which allows you to run your own private Large Language Model on your computer’s CPU. I’m running it on a laptop purchased back in September 2019 which has an Intel Core i7-9750H and 16GB of Crucial Ram.
While no where near as fast as using ChatGPT or one of the many other LLM’s now available online, it is a way to run it privately without sharing any of your details.

To get the Stable Vicuna model go to Huggingface and download the stable-vicuna-13B.ggml.q4_0.bin model. The other versions do not seem to work with Alpaca Electron at the time of this writing. Hopefully it will soon.
Now… How is Stable Vicuna going to run like AutoGPT? Well… because of a bug! You see, sometimes the model will output information that looks like it is an input coming from a user, it will then continue as a good assistant and output based on the hallucinated user input! LOL.
Here is a fun little experiment I tried with both ChatGPT and Alpaca Electron/Stable Vicuna.
The PROMPT:
Please write an epic, thrilling, electrifying tag team wrestling match for the “Slammin’ Celebrity Wrestling” show . The match features The Brits vs The Lips. The team of The Brits include Emma Watson and Simone Ashley, while The Lips feature Beyonce and Billie Eilish. Gordon Ramsay added his own commentary about how he was excited to see these four talented women go at it in a no-holds barred matchup of epic proportions.
Okay, it actually stopped after a short response, but after I told it to “Continue” This is what it created:

As soon as the bell rang to start the match, Emma Watson sprang into action first, using her quick reflexes and agility to take down Beyonce quickly. As you can see it started giving itself commands to continue writing. Not that it was by any means good writing in this particular case. Also it didn’t really follow the prompt that great and never got any critique from Gordon Ramsey. To write all of this using just my CPU it ran for about an hour.
Total words: 125 + 1937 = 2062.
However, I have had better luck with other inputs and it is less likely to give you the accursed “As an A.I. Language model…” nonsense and let you create some more, uhm… risque content.
